The death occurred at his residence in Summerside, on December 7, 2025, of Gary Thomas Spencer of Summerside, PEI, aged 73 years.  

Gary was born in Sackville, New Brunswick and was raised in Port Elgin NB to his late parents, Albert and Doris (nee LeBlanc) Spencer.

Devoted and loving husband to Linda K. (Burtch) Spencer for 49 years, and loving father of Michael and Craig.

Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Brendan, Cohen, Maddy, and Nolan, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Terry Lynn (John) Rodobolski, Charlotte (Gerald) Melanson, Wallace (Norma) Spencer, and Kevin (Cathy) Spencer. Brother in-law Edward (Sandy) Burtch

Predeceased by Leonard (Mary) Burtch, Alex (Dianne) Burtch.

Gary was a devoted family man, he loved all his family with a full heart.

Gary played guitar almost daily. It was his greatest hobby, including his earlier days with his band "The Chimes". 

Gary’s greatest passion was his Grandkids, he spent many hours watching Brendan and Cohen playing baseball and basketball or taking them for a round of golf and collecting sports cards with them. Also his “princess” Maddy having dress up party’s and many other fun games and sleepovers. Gary also spent many years coaching his own sons in hockey and baseball.

Gary started his work career out of high school working for Marine Atlantic until its closing in Borden. 

Gary went on to work at Source for Sports for 28 years where he was a very dedicated worker. Special thanks to Dwayne McNeil for all his kindness throughout those years.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. By personal request, no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held to honor his memory at a later date.
