Peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, PEI, of Cecil Dyer Palmer of Borden-Carleton, age 94 years. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Palmer nee Ramsay for 74 years. Cecil was born in Conway, PEI, to the late John D. Palmer and Annie Pearl Burns.

Survived by his children Eleanor (Bob MacEachern), Deborah Palmer, David Palmer, Verna (Kenny Larkin), Roma (Peter Johns), Anna Pickering, Robert Palmer. Lovingly remembered by 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild.

Predeceased by daughter, Barbara Palmer, son-in-laws Edwin Chandler, James Flood, Stephane Pickering and great-grandchild Nathan Costain, siblings Harold (Verna), Ruth (Cliff Ellis), Edith (Elmer Boyle), Charles (Erma).

Cecil worked in the Steward's Department Marine Atlantic Ferries for over 30 years. A long time Habs and Jays fan, he loved going to the Horse Races and this continued until last summer. Cecil's favorite past time was listening to Elizabeth playing her piano, he loved to sing, entertain their friends and family and the kettle was always on and the doors were always open. For years Cecil and Elizabeth hosted a large Christmas Party for over 100 guests at their home, "The Old Walker Residence”, in Cape Traverse. Cecil was most happy surrounded by his family and never turned down a game of poker. Cecil was proud of his over 30 years of sobriety and relied heavily on his faith in different times. Despite failing health, Cecil retained his sharp wit and ability to tell a good story. Cecil spent his past 4 years living at Wedgewood Manor where he received excellent care.

Resting at East Prince Funeral Home. 245 Pope Road, Summerside, PEI. Interment to take place at a later date at St. Peters Anglican Cemetery, Lot 11. Donations in Cecil's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral service held.
