Wendy Heather Lockhart passed away unexpectedly at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax on November 26, 2025, at the age of 66. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Dwight; her two children, Jillian (Eddy) Bridges and Jamie Lockhart (Chie Kyo); and her two grandchildren, Kai and Nina, who will miss their NANA dearly.

She is survived by her siblings, Graham (Laurel) and Anita (Paul); sisters-in-law, Linda and Wendy (John); father-in-law, James; and her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Janice Phillips; mother-in-law, Frances Lockhart; and brother-in-law, Wade.

Wendy was born in Cowes, Isle of Wight, England, on September 11, 1959, to Eric Phillips and Janice Fry. She immigrated to Canada with her family in October 1965. After a week-long boat journey—one that included passing through the tail end of a hurricane—they arrived in Fredericton, NB. The family later moved to Moncton before settling in PEI in the early 1970s.

It was there that Wendy met Dwight at the Lockhart family service station. They later married in 1982, and Wendy and Dwight have been happily(?) married for 43 years.

Resting at East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Rd. Summerside until Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow the service at People’s Cemetery, Summerside. Donations in Wendy’s memory can be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 12:30 - 2:15 p.m.
