The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital of Helen Marie Loney of Summerside, formerly of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, aged 85 years.
Born in Digby, Nova Scotia to her late parents, Reginald and Madelyn (Raye) Mount.
Loving Mother of Daniel (Sharon) Gagnon, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Lisa (John) Nelson and grandson Joshua, Oshawa, Ontario.
Survived by brothers Paul (Pat) and Earl (Shirley) Mount of Nova Scotia and several nieces and nephews.
Dear friend, of Roy Crozier and his family, Jo-Ann and Huge Pye, Jonathan (Jessica) and Matthew Adams, Keven, Beth and Kennedy Crozier, and special friend of Stewart and Sharon Arkwell, Leonard and Carol Gallant and LeRoy and Karen Gamble.
Predeceased by her husband Robert Loney, brothers Eddy, Ray and Kenny Mount and daughter-in-law, Margaret Gagnon.
Marie had a multitude of talents and volunteered her time generously with St. Eleanors Lions Club, Prince County Hospital Auxiliary and Wreath and Poppy Campaign at the Summerside Legion. She loved knitting and gave countless items to the Prince County Hospital Gift Shop. Marie was an Associate Member of the Summerside Legion and a member of the RCAF Wing 200.
She enjoyed travel and in recent years cruises took her to Europe, Alaska, Panama Canal, New England and Caribbean.
Marie's beautiful spirit captured the hearts of many Islanders.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside, PEI. A gathering will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025 at the Summerside Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5 at 2:00 p.m.
By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral service held. Interment to take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia.
