Doreen Ann Arthur Obituary

The death occurred peacefully at Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary, PEI, on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, of Dorren Ann Arthur (Poirier), aged 82 years. Doreen was born in Barrie, Ontario to the late John and Amy (Arsenault) Poirier.


 


Beloved wife of the late William “Billy” Arthur and loving mother of Darlene (Hazen) MacKenzie, Donnie Palmer, David Palmer, and stepchildren Shane, Kim and Shelley.


 


Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew, Matthew (Stephanie), Ruth, Nicholas (Kelsi), Jesse, Katelyn (Joshua) and 4 great-grandchildren Reid, Rylee, Rett and Roland.


 


Survived by her brother Wayne Poirier, sister Jane Poirier and brother-in-law Fred Walfield as well as many nieces and nephews.


 


Predeceased by her son Dean Palmer, sisters Winnie MacDonald, Adele Crozier, Sandra Duquette, Cheryl Walfield and 3 brothers in infancy as well as her brother-in-law Hugh MacDonald.


 


Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, September 22nd, 2025, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at  11:00 a.m.  Interment to take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown at a later date.


 


Memorial donation in Doreen’s memory can be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
