Survived by sister Margie Atkins (James Arbing) and brother Ronnie Atkins (Burnese) and many nieces and nephews who were dear to Mom. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Edna Atkins, brother-in-law Sid Vessey and cousins-Atkins family, the Roberts family, the McQuaid family, the Gallant family and the Bowles family.

Predeceased by her father and mother, James and Catherine Atkins (nee Gallant), brothers Simon, Amby, and Clifford (Vernita), sister Florence Vessey, her great-grandson Atlas Arsenault-Dennis, her mother and father-in-law, Redmond and Myrtle Soy and her sister-in-law Jennifer (Cessely) Kemp.

Mom started her career as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse and then she stayed home raising her five children.  Following this, she pursued a career in insurance. Her favorite times were spent with family at her beloved cottage in Fernwood, always having her much-loved dog, Tupper at her side.  She enjoyed her many trips-cruises to Alaska and Bermuda, road trips to Florida and New York City, a city she came to love. She so enjoyed seeing her wonderful Tim Hortons friends, whom she dearly loved.

We would like to greatly thank Dr. Antle, Dr. McLeod, Dr. Morash, Dr. Kutcher, Dr. Casey, and Dr. Dickieson.  Many kind thanks to the amazing staff of the surgical, medical and ER units of Prince County Hospital. We would also very much like to thank Maritime Respite and Prince County Home Care. Donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
