Robert Harold MacBurnie, of Wellington, passed away quietly in the morning hours of Monday, 18 August, 2025 in the Moncton City Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Harriet (Allen) and survived by his son, Scott, of Charlottetown, and two cats, Scruffy & Mikey.
He was further predeceased by his parents, George & Barbara MacBurnie, and was the eldest of ten surviving brothers & sisters, along with many nieces and nephews.
Robert & Harriet spent most of their lives in Masstown, Nova Scotia, and moved to PEI upon retirement. He spent much of his later years in volunteer work with Hospice PEI and other projects for seniors, as well as developing quite a taste for cribbage.
He loved antique and vintage cars all of his life, building many scale models and was a regular attendee at many area car shows.
In his last years, he also found a dear friend in Trudy Cameron (Wisener) and the two spent much time travelling around PEI and he was an enthusiastic cheerleader to her grandchildren’s athletic endeavours.
Donations can be made to Hospice PEI, or the PEI Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
