The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 15th, 2025, of “Mary” Julia Ratelle (Gallant) of Summerside, aged 105 years. Mary was born in Sherbrooke, P.E.I. to her late parents Fred and Alvina (Arsenault) Gallant. Beloved wife of the late Roland Ratelle and loving mother of Edmond (Marsha) Ratelle of Summerside and Peter (Susan) Ratelle of Summerside.

Loving remembered by grandchildren Nicholas and Jeramy (Colleen), step granddaughter Melissa (Bradley), great-grandchildren Kai and Teya,  step great-grandchildren Tatum, Micah and Anson along with several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her siblings Edmond (Bernedette) Gallant, Margueriete (Clifford) Gaudet, Oliver (May) Gallant and sister Jenevive in infancy.

Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, August 20th, 2025, then to St Paul’s Catholic Church for funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
