Mildred June Newrick Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of June Newrick, peacefully from Kensington Community Care Home on Thursday, July 31, 2025.


 


June was born in Victoria on June 9, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Reta (Dawson) and Arthur Sherren. June's family lived in Victoria until 1945 when Art bought a farm in Westmoreland. She married Ivan Newrick in 1956 and moved to Borden. June lived in Borden-Carleton until Ivan retired. Both later moved to Summerside. Ivan passed in September 2024. June resided at Kensington Community Care Home until her passing. June is lovingly remembered by brother Tom Sherren and sister Elsie Molyneaux, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


 


Daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Hansen, Janice (Fred) Casler, Lori Anne (Blair) Newrick-Gallant, Ivan (Laura) Newrick, and James (Michelle Eisnor) Newrick. Grandchildren, Melanie (Jonathan) Chase, Graham (Sabrina Sargent) Hansen, Alexander (Kim) Hansen, Rick (Ashley) Casler, Joshua Gallant, Joel Newrick, Timothy (Robyn) Newrick, and Jacklyn Newrick. Great grandchildren, Stella Rhae Hansen, Charlie Casler, Greyson Casler, Bentley Newrick, and Colton Newrick.


 


Predeceased by her husband Ivan Newrick, parents, brothers Donnie, Ray and Reg, granddaughter Melissa June Hansen, and son-in-law Blair Gallant.


 


Special thanks to the staff of Kensington Community Care Home who took such excellent care of June.


 


No visiting hours by personal request. Interment service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church in Crapaud on Wednesday August 6th at 1:00pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend.


Reception to follow in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to St John’s Anglican Church would be appreciated.
