The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Monday, July 28th, 2025, of Paul David MacWilliams of Summerside, aged 78 years.  Paul was born in Summerside to his late parents Bruce and Frances MacWilliams (Guignion).  He is lovingly remembered by his wife Isabel (Konderson), his daughter Kate, her partner Justin Turpin and his grandson Scottie Mykhailo Turpin.

Also lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews, Micheal Champion (Jacquie), Craig Champion (Tasha), Judy Fortune (Matt), Fallon MacWilliams and Randi MacDonald (Tim).

Survived by his sister Gloria (Champion) and brother John MacWilliams (Claire Gallant).

Predeceased by his parents, sister Virginia, brother Alan and brother-in-law Wayne Champion.

Paul was widely known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, his exceptional athleticism—especially in hockey—his unwavering dedication to his own recovery and to supporting others on their journeys, and a meaningful career that culminated in serving the City of Summerside, the hometown he held so dear. He loved travelling with Isabel, kayaking around Holman’s Island on a calm summer’s day and seeking out a delicious hot dog anywhere in the world.

Paul's family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Prince County Hospital Surgical  Floor for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Paul.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, then to Trinity United Church for funeral service at 11:00 am.  Interment to take place in People’s Cemetery.

Donations in Paul’s memory to Prince County Addiction Services or Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.  Visiting hours on Friday, August 1st, 2025,  from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
