The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, of Faye Esther Rayner of Linkletter and formerly of Greenmount, PEI aged 86 years.
Faye's happy place was her home. Faye and Eldon began a labour of love in 1963 when they began to build their house with their own hands. The house and the Family grew over the years as they made it a home. Faye loved nothing more than having her family gathered for a dinner that she would lovingly prepare. Faye's biggest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, in which she played a very active role in caring for each and everyone of them. You could plainly see this because there was not one square inch without a photograph of a loved one. One of her favourite ways to entertain her grandchildren was to play board games, especially crokinole at which no one ever beat Nanny Faye.
One of the ever-lasting constants in her life was her best friend Wilma and going for coffee everyday together with friends.
We can let Mom go with mournful but glad hearts knowing she will be reunited with the love of her life, Eldon and her beloved son, Richard.
Faye was born in Greenmount, PEI to her late parents Charles and Jean (nee Winters) Rayner. Beloved wife of the late Eldon Rayner and loving mother of Grant (Lisa) and Valerie Heeschen.
Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Tasha, Mitchell, Christopher, Anthony, Ryan and Mary Beth; great grandchildren Carlee, Mae, Greyson and by many nieces and nephews.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Velma, Irene, Ollie (Allan), Marjorie, Linda (Mike) and Paul (Celine).
Predeceased by her parents, husband Eldon, son Richard, brothers and sisters Robert, Wayne, Alida, Fern and Betty as well as brothers-in-law Errol and Alden.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025, then to Central Street Christian Church, Central Street for a funeral service at 10:00am. Interment to take place in Summerside People’s Cemetery.
Donations in Faye’s memory to PCH Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday, July 21st, 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
