The death occurred suddenly at her home on July 13th, 2025, of Irene Francis Gallant of St. Nicholas, PEI, aged 74 years. Irene was born in Summerside to her late parents, George and Marjorie (Gallant) Young. Beloved wife of Anthony (Tony) Gallant (deceased).

Loving mother of Arlene, Tony (Jackie), Sandy (LeeAnne) and Kirk (Jaclyn).

Also lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Survived by the following siblings: Pat and Hazel. Irene will be fondly remembered by Marie, Byron, Orella, Ivan, Laura, the Ryder's and her pup, Millie.

Predeceased by her parents, George and Marjorie, her husband, Tony, brothers Harold, Emmett and Reggie.

Irene may have been small in size but she was a force to be reckoned with. When she loved you, she loved you deeply and fiercely and protectively. Irene was the definition of unconditional love for her family.

She was incredibly proud of all of her grandchildren, who brought her so much laughter and love. She was so happy to have her grandson Ethan come to stay with her along with Millie-the-dog who stole a piece of her heart (as well as some of her patience).

She loved her tea and scratch tickets and spending time with her family and friends, whether it was a trip to the casino with friends, spending time with the kids and grandkids or thrift store adventures with Laura.

And Tony. Oh, how she loved Tony. Fiercely and forever. We take comfort in knowing that they have found each other again.

We will miss her every second of every day. Our tiny sweet and sassy mom, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend. Our hearts ache with the loss of you.

Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, July 19th, 2025, then to St John the Baptist Church, Miscouche, for a funeral mass at 10:00 am.

Interment to take place at St John the Baptist Church Cemetery following the mass.

Donations in Irene's memory can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 18th, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
