Yvon Arseneault Obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Yvon Arseneault on July 7, 2025, surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, after a short but courageous battle with cancer aged 69 years.


Yvon is survived by his life-long love—his wife Mavis Batchelor, his dear children Sylvie (David) McGuigan and son Steven Arseneault, and his cherished granddaughter Olivia McGuigan. Yvon is also survived by his sister Diane Gagné (Yves, deceased), his brother Jean “Johnny” Arseneau and sister-in-law Carole St-Pierre, and his brother Jacques “Jimmy” Arseneault and sister-in-law Marina, as well as his nephews and nieces, aunts, cousins and many dear friends.


 


Yvon loved gardening, spending many hours through the years tending to both his home and cottage gardens, as well as being part of the volunteers from the Summerside Garden Club who started up the Prince County Hospital garden. Yvon was also a dedicated volunteer in his community and will be remembered for passionately serving many organizations over the years.


 


Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, P.E.I.  Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday July 19th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.  Interment to take place at a later date in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hour on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Yvon’s memory may be made to Hospice P.E.I.
