The death occurred peacefully at Whisperwood Villa on June 17th, 2025 of Loraine Maxine MacDonald of Charlottetown and formerly of North Tryon aged 82 years.  Loraine was born in McAdam, New Brunswick on September 5th, 1942 to her late parents Arlington and Georgina (Folland) Day.  Beloved wife of Ralph for 64 years and loving mother of Sandie and Tim.

 Loving Grammie to Tyler, Katherine, Robyn, Holly, Erica and Samantha.  Loving Great Grandmother to Madison, Wesley, Olen, Theo, Hallie, Jasper, Zuri, Ruby, Nova, Yarrow, Juniper and Irie.  Also remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Survived by the following sister:  Gloria (Jack) Thornton,  sisters-in-law Jean Day, Lois Gass, Mabel (Wayne) Gardiner, Afreda MacDonald and brother-in-law Don (Georgina) MacDonald.

Predeceased by brothers:  Wayne, Erroll, Larry Day, sisters-in-law Laura and Marion Day, Doris (Jim) Crossman, Annabelle (Clair) White, and brothers-in-law Morley (Irma) MacDonald, Boyd MacDonald and daughter-in-law Dulcie MacDonald.

Interment to take place at a later date in North Tryon Presbyterian Cemetery.  Donations in Loraine’s memory to Alzheimer Society of PEI, North Tryon Presbyterian Church.  No visitation by personal request.

Heartfelt thanks to Mom’s caregivers over the past 2 years at Whisperwood Villa.  Thank you for the compassion, care and love given to her.  We appreciate it.

Our Mom, Wife and Grandmother was a woman of great love for her family and friends and of a quiet faith which was demonstrated by her servant heart.  Over the years she was involved with North Tryon’s Women’s Institute, Women’s Missionary Society and was a member of North Tryon Presbyterian Church.  She was a great baker and cook and took great joy in feeding her family.  She was in her happy place spending time at Palfrey Lake, McAdam, NB with her sister Gloria near by.  Loraine loved being surrounded by nature, her family and the memories of her parents and youth.  She was at peace there, just as she is at peace now in her heavenly home.
