
Obituary of Lorne Pye
The death occurred peacefully sourrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside PEI, aged 74 years. Lorne was born in Lot 16, PEI to the late George and Dena (DesRoche) Pye. Beloved husband of Barb (Arsenault) Pye and loving father of Darlene Pye (Bernard Reeves), stepchildren Nicole (Keith) Ellis, Stephen Fear (Chelsea). Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kyle and Sara Compton, Cheyenne, Kalleigh, Vann, Dexter and Irene, great grandchild Calliope. Survived by his sisters Muriel, June, Clare and Sharon, brothers and sisters in-law Paul (Carla) Arsenault, Susan (Dwayne) Gallant and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son Andy Pye (2021), son in-law Blaine Compton (2015), brothers and sisters Earle, Stanley, Blanche, Lillian, Janie, Charles, Vans and Carl, mother and father in-law Eileen and Albert Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince funeral home 245 Pope Road, Summerside where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday June 12, 2015 at 4:00 pm.
Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Donations in Lorne's memory can be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes. Visiting hour on Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
