
Obituary of Sonny Dugay
The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 of Emmanuel “Sonny” Dugay of Miscouche aged 75 years. Sonny was born in Summerside to his late parents Emmanuel and Doris (Bernard) Dugay. Beloved husband of Norma Dugay (Arsenault) and loving father of Kevin (Pam Sellick) and Paula (Errol) Mills.
Also lovingly remembered by one grandchild, Madison Mills (Reece Marchbank) and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Gary (Julie), Clair (Mike Moore), Florina (Austin) MacLeod, Bruce (Barb) and Gerard. Also by brother in-law Ivan Curley and sister in-law Judy.
Predeceased by his sister Bernadette Curley and brothers Ron and Michael Dugay.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, June 11, 2025 then to the Funeral Chapel for a funeral service at 2:00p.m. Interment to take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Donations in Sonny’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Vistiting hours 11:00a.m. until the time of service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
