Obituary of Charles Clifford Palmer

The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 of Charles “Charlie” Clifford Palmer of Summerside and formerly of Borden-Carleton, P.E.I. aged 90 years.  Charlie was born in Conway, P.E.I. to his late parents John D. and Pearl (Burns) Palmer.  Beloved husband of Erma (Paugh) Palmer and father of Stephen (Soraya) and Velma (Chuck-deceased) Rogers.

Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Candice Rogers, Jonathan (Estee) Palmer, Hannah Palmer (Jonah) and great grand children Ada and Everley Palmer and several nieces and nephews.

Survived by his brother Cecil (Elizabeth) Palmer.

Predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Harold (Verna) Palmer, Ruth (Clifford) Ellis and Edith (Elmer) Boyle.

Charlie worked for Marine Atlantic in Borden-Carleton for 46 years as an engineer.  He enjoyed his cottage in East Bideford, riding his boat on the river, digging clams and a good feed of lobster.

Papa (as called by his grandchildren) will be missed by all of us.

The family want to thank Andrews of Parkhill for the care they gave Charlie over 3 ½ years.  Also to all the staff at Wedgewood Manor who made his last 6 weeks a joy.  Your kindness and compassion was so appreciated.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside.  No service or visitation by personal request.  Interment to take place at a later date.

Donations in Charlie’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
