

Obituary of Barbara Christine Sutherland
The death occurred peacefully as she joined her boys and was promoted to glory. On Monday March 31, 2025 at Clinton View Lodge of Barabara Christine Sutherland (MacLeod) of Clinton, PEI and formerly of Seaview, PEI, aged 93 years. Barb was born in Long River, PEI to the late Ralph and MaryEllen (Found) MacLeod. Beloved wife of late Gordon Sutherland and loving mother of Lynn Bulger, Cynthia, Libby (Eric) Buchanan, Marla (John) Bernard. Also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by her sister Beryl MacLeod, sister-in-law Grace MacLeod and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased byher sons Corey and Kenneth Sutherland, son in-law John Graham, brother Clayton MacLeod, brother-in-law Donald MacLeod.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road,Summerside, PEI. A graveside service to take place in the Malpeque People’s Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Barb’s memory can be made directly to the Malpeque People’s Cemetery.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
