
Obituary of Myrna Jennie MacCarville
The death occurred peacefully at Community Hospital, O'leary, PEI on March 26th, 2025 of Myrna Jennie MacCarville (Allen) of Union Corner aged 82 years. Myrna was born in Summerside, PEI to her late parents, Charles and Grace Allen (Barlow). Beloved wife of Claude and loving mother of Melanie Howatt (Barry) and Vickie. Also lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Joshua MacCarville (Madalene Rodgerson), Jocelyn Perry and Jessica Yeo (Jordan).
Survived by brothers Kenneth (Doris) Allen and David (Arlene) Allen, brothers-in-law Robert MacBurnie, Allison (Marilyn) McCarville, sisters-in-law Bonnie (Ennis) Moore and Una McCarville and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by parents-in-law, Milton and Annie McCarville, infant sibling Dexter, brother Preston (Toby) Allen, sister Harriet MacBurnie, brother-in-law David McCarville, sister-in-law Sharon (Everett) McNeill.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, PEI until Monday, March 31st, 2025 where a funeral service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment to take place at a later date in Hillside Cemetery in Wellington. Visiting hours on Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
Myrna's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care Myrna received over the past few years. A special "Thank You" to Dr. Arsenault-Sampson, Home Care Nursing staff and the Palative Care unit at Community Hospital in O'leary.
In honour of Myrna, memorial donations can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
