
Obituary of Shirley Anne Greene
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Sunday March 23rd, 2025 of Shirley Anne Greene (DesRoches) of Le Chez Nous. Wellington and formerly of Miscouche, PEI, aged 89 years. Shirley was born in Charlottetown, PEI to the late William Allison Huestis and Josephine Duffy (DesRoches).
Loving mother of Sandra (Charles) Gallant, Summerside, Brenda Arsenault, Summerside, Murray (Cindy) Gaudet, New Minas, NS, Gwen MacAusland, Truro, NS, Darlene (Urban) Cannon, Sackville, NS, David (Janet) Gaudet, Charlottetown, Susan (Peter) Doucette, Charlottetown. Also remembered by her 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Survived by her brothers and sisters Donald (Marie) Duffy, Halifax, NS, Joyce Duffy, Summerside, Judy Duffy (Alan Scales), Charlottetown, Ron (Anne) Huestis, Bedford, NS. and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son in-law Billy Arsenault.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Rd, Summerside. By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. A graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery. Donations in Shirley's memory can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
