Claude Ernest Allen
The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family, at Prince County Hospital on Sunday
March 16, 2025, of Claude Ernest Allen at the age of 76 years.
Claude was born in Summerside, PEI on October 5,1948. Loving husband of Betty Jean
(Russell). Father of Dawn MacMillan (Marc Gallant), and Denise (Jim) McMaster
He was a loving Grampy to Liam and Claire McMaster, and Ben and Evan MacMillan.
Fondly remembered by his sisters- in- law, Lovelyn Allen, Gail MacNeill, Judy DesRoches
(Paul), and Sharon Holloway (Glenn Black). Also remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Grace (Ramsay) Allen, In- laws Everett and Kay
(Carney) Russell, brothers Russell (Anne), and Everett. Brother-in-law Fred MacNeill and
nephew Scott MacNeill.
He grew up in Union Corner, but Claude and Betty Jean did spend five years in Slave Lake,
Alberta working in the oil fields. Claude was a welder by trade but later became involved with
building aquaculture equipment and later working in the aquaculture industry. Claude was well
known for his kindness to his family, friends, and community. A dedicated lifetime member of
the Wellington Pastoral Charge, he held multiple positions within the church during this time.
Claude was often seen cutting grass at the Union Corner United Cemetery.
He loved Island summers, being on the water and hosting friends new and old. One of the
multiple highlights for Claude was watching his grandchildren play sports and thrive, there was
never a rink cold enough to keep him away.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Cherian, Dr. Zotova, Dr. Hayden, Staff
at PCH, and EMS who came to our home.
Resting at The East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road Summerside until Thursday March
20, 2025, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11a.m. Interment at
a later date in the Union Corner United Church Cemetery.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
