
Obituary of Colleen McLean
The death occurred surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Monday March 10th, 2025 of Colleen M. McLean (Gallant) of Emerald, PEI, aged 66 years. Colleen was born in Minto, NB to the late Ralph and Amelia (Bodechon) Gallant.
Beloved wife of the late Darrel McLean and loving mother of Darren (Tara) McLean, Norma Lee McLean (John Hutcheson), Lindsey (Mike) Laveen and Dallas McLean. Loving grandmother to Jake, Marley, Drak, Ethan, Joseph, Dustan, Jackson, Amelia, Sammy, Abby and Aiden.
Survived by her siblings Victoria Walsh (Bobby), Marcie Matthews (Wayne), Juliet Miscich (Arnold), Ralph Jr. Gallant, Lorinda Bonnell (Jimmy), Kathy Hogan (Bruce), Darlene Gallant (Joseph), Janet Keough (Chris), Stephen and Lisa Jenkins (Lawrence) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by her brother Louis Gallant, sisters Irene Betts and Sally (Cyril) Cannon and granddaughter Shalynn.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Rd. Summerside, PEI until Saturday March 15, 2025 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Colleen's memory can be made directly to the PEI Lung Association. Visiting hours on Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
