
Obituary of Michelle Lynn Stark
Michelle Lynn Stark (Pineo) passed away on February 24,2025 in Summerside PEI, after a brief but brave battle with ALS. Michelle was born on November 30, 1969, in Kentville, Nova Scotia and was the youngest of five girls.
Michelle was a graduate of Cornwallis District High School, later earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Acadia University before completing her studies at Dalhousie University to become a Dental Hygienist. She worked as a Dental Hygienist for over 30 years, practicing in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the last 15 years in PEI.
Michelle was married to Graham; her high school sweetheart and they began their family in Northern New Brunswick after graduating from university. After many years in New Brunswick, they briefly lived in Nova Scotia before settling in PEI. Michelle had a zest for life, enjoyed travelling, playing cards with family and friends, curling, and walking the boardwalk with Myley and Nova. Her infectious smile and vibrant spirit could light up any room. She had a love for good food and often joked that she should have been a food critic. One of her greatest joys in life was becoming a mother to Logan and Colin and then a grandmother to Waylon.
Michelle was preceded in death by her mother Marion, sister Darlene, nephew Chad, brother in laws Rick Barton and Jim Lyons.
She is deeply mourned and will be fondly remembered by her husband, Graham Stark; sons Logan (Kayla), Colin (Kendra), grandson Waylon; Father James Pineo, sisters Jean Barton, Lorenda Veinot (Donnie) and Mary (Charlie). Her sister by heart, Charla Selfridge (Pat) , lifelong friend Sheryl-Ann Wasson ( Michael). Father and Mother in Law, Bob and Davlyn Stark, brothers in law Fraser (Rosemary), Duncan, Ian (Katherine) , sisters in law Julia (Iain), Lorianne (Rob) as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Home Care Staff and PCH staff, especially the Palliative care unit for their compassionate care and support during Michelle’s illness.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted with East Prince Funeral Home in Summerside, 245 Pope Rd, Summerside. Funeral service will be held in the funeral chapel on Sunday March 2nd, 2025 at 2:00 p.m Donations can be made directly to the Canadian Red Cross.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
