


Obituary of Lewis Walter Riley
With heavy hearts the family would like to announce the death which occurred peacefully of Lewis Walter Riley on Friday, February 7th, 2025 at the age of 80 at the Prince County Hospital Summerside, P.E.I Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Gallant) Riley. Son of the late Hazel Jane (Murl) Riley and the late Frank Sr. Riley. Loving father of Sharon (Jim) MacAusland, Chris Riley and Neal (Rebecca) Riley. Loving remembered by his 4 grandchildren Alyssa, Keisha, Kale and Kyan, 3 great grandchildren Mason, Charie and Spencer and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by all his siblings Fred, Sheldon, Frank Jr. and Margarette (Carson) and by an infant son Larry.
Lewis spent many years on P.E.I. doing carpentry around the Island which he held much pride in prior to that he drove transfer truck which he loved & had pride in that as well Lewis helped many family members with his trade as a Carpenter.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, PEI until Thursday February 13th, 2025 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery at a later date. Donation's In Lewis memory can be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. By personal request there will be no visiting hours held.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
