
Obituary of James Herbert Burrell
The death occurred peacefully at Andrews of Summerside on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, of James Herbert Burrell of Summerside aged 81 years. James was born in Yarmouth, NS, to his late parents, George and Elizabeth (Muise) Burrell. Beloved wife of 42 years to Brenda ( Simmons) Burrell.
Survived by his sister, Nancy (Harry), brothers Gordie (Glenda), Joey (late Janice) and sisters in-law, Judy, Kathy (Pat) and brothers in-law Gary (Liz) and Greg (Sheryl) and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Linda, Judy (late James), Helen and brother Roger.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. By personal request there will be no visitation or service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
