Dear Wayne and Family. I am sending my deepest condolences to you all. I am so sorry I was not aware of Katie’s death before today as I would have preferred to give my condolences in person. The obituary offers such a beautiful tribute to Katie. So difficult to write. Take good care of yourselves and each other. Sincerely yours, Carolyn Black, former KISH staff member and colleague of Wayne.

I joined the Eptek book group when Katie was at the helm. It was a pleasure to meet her daughter when she spoke at the group and to have a book group meet at her house and be in her lovely garden. To be able to talk to family and see her in the pictures chosen by the family was also special.
I was surprised to hear of her death and so I wanted to send condolences to the family and to say that I will be making a donation to a group in the community that I think she'd be in favor of receiving a donation in her memory. Lynda Boyd

My sympathy to the family on the loss of your wife (mother and grandmother). I knew Katie through the PEIHEA and remember fondly the times I helped her with the Garden Party at your home. Her gardens were always beautiful (no thanks to me) and it was always a great evening of fun and catching up.I hope that your memories of happier family times will help ease this time of sorrow for you and your family and help you in the difficult times ahead. I am sorry I was not able to attend the wake.
Sincerely,
Merilyn Carew

I am truly saddened to hear of Katie's passing. My deepest sympathy to Wayne, Sarah and David. It's been may years since I have seen Katie, she was a treasured sister in Guiding. Her infectious smile and laughter will always be remembered. Always willing to teach and share, I learned so many things from her. She introduced me to many new foods during our potluck dinners, I still make her tabouli salad recipe! She did make a difference to so many, a shining light. I have no doubt she will be missed.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
