Obituary of John Joseph Morrison
On December 30, 2024, John Joseph Morrison peacefully completed his earthly journey. Born in Bayside (Grand River) to Gabriel and Florence Morrison, and brother to siblings James, Rosella (Pye), Leona (Doucette) and Bennet.
John resided most of his life in Summerside, where he found joy in connecting with people during his years as a taxi driver. He began his career with Flicker Taxi and later owned and operated Untied Taxi.
He is deeply mourned by his beloved wife, Juanita Morrison (nee MacDonald). He was a cherished father to Scott (Predeceased), Sharon Morrison (Sean O'Connor) of South Korea, Diane Morrison -Robinson (Derril Morrison-Robinson) of Tyne Valley, and Brian (predeceased) of Texas.
A devoted grandfather, he will be dearly missed by Xavier and Sienna Morrison -Robinson, and Lily Morrison (of Texas). He will also be fondly remembered by his former daughter-in-law, Rebecca Haywood Morrison, and extended family members.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Paul's Roman Catholic church in Summerside on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Follwed by a reception in Parish Center. Donations in John's memory can be made to a charity of choice.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
