Mary (Betty) E. (Arsenault) Murphy, at the age of 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 13th, 2024 at Prince County Hospital. Born in Summerside, PE on June 3rd, 1933, she was the daughter of Hubert and Agnes (Gallant) Arsenault.

Betty will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, spending time with her family and friends, and her appreciation for music, bingo, and cups of tea. She touched the lives of many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and she will be forever cherished and remembered.

Betty, loving wife of the late Frederick DeCoste, the late Jimmy Snee, and the late Donald Murphy, and loving partner of the late Don Burt. Betty is survived by her children John DeCoste, Helen (Kathy) Beaulieu and her husband Michael, and Debra Sobey, her sisters Sally Arsenault, Ruby Jurkowski and her husband Joe, and Nancy Sonier, and brothers Doug Arsenault and his wife Bonnie and Blair Arsenault and his wife Norma, grandchildren Paul DeCoste and his wife Janelle, David C. DeCoste, Michael Beaulieu, Alanna Beaulieu and her partner Richard, David Sobey and his wife Courtney, Khristin Sobey and his wife Janelle, James Sobey, Dawn Sobey, Kate Sobey, and her great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death with siblings Leroy Arsenault, Lorne Arsenault, Ralph Arsenault, Shirley Dickenson, Harvey Arsenault, Velda Harris, Bobby Arsenault, David Arsenault, and Judy Gaudet, children Ruth (Dolly) DeCoste, Terry DeCoste, and David DeCoste, and grandchild Leah DeCoste.

Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday June 14th, 2024 at 10:30am where a funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church, 7 Mile Bay. Interment following the funeral mass in the church cemetery.
