Obituary of McEachern, Merlene Gail
Late Saturday evening, January 30th, Merlene Gail McEachern of Cavendish passed suddenly in her family home at the age of 71.
Wife to late husband Joseph Emerson McEachern, Merlene will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children Melissa (Daniel), Angela and Chris, grandchildren Cody (Corinne), Joshua, Kaleigh and Chloe, and her two great grandchildren Archer and Paisley, who she cherished the most.
She is survived by her bothers David (Opal), Randy (Angie), and Timmy, and predeceased by her sister Cynthia and parents Merle and Jean Milbury.
A lover of nature, music and adventure, Merlene spent her days relaxing outside on warm summer days, walking the beaches of PEI, enjoying the company of family and visiting with her best friend Barb.
At Merlene's request, no visitation or funeral service will be held, however a small burial gathering will be held at a later date in Tabusintac, NB.
Memorial donations in Merlene's name can be made to any local mental health and addictions service foundations.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
