Obituary of Noonan, Clara "Lorraine"
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Clara "Lorraine" (nee Sherry) Noonan. The death occurred suddenly and peacefully, with family by her side, at her home in Albany on Friday, June 18, 2021, age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Philip and her parents Basil & Mary (Cusack) Sherry. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her 11 children- Pamela (Hughie) Murphy, Peter (Stephanie), Rachel (Guy) Cameron, Russell (Karen), Anne Marie (Paul) Muise, Stephanie Smith, Maribeth, Andrea, Andrew (Sandra), Jennifer Chapman and Jacinta (Chris) Keough. Dear Nan to 26 grandchildren - Mitchell, Emma, Justin, Molly, Sean, Sarah, Lindsay, Nicholas, Rebecca, Erin, Sam, Jeremy, Jonathan, Jessica, Daniel, Maria, Carly, Ryan, Mallory, Alex, Kevin, Alicia, Zoey, Claire, William and Austin. Special Great Grandmother to Jaylin, Isaiah, Aniyah, Miles, Bryce and Rhen.
Survived by her cherished sisters Frances McCourt and Helena (Reg) Hamill; sisters and brothers in-law Leona Lafferty, Paul (Barb) Noonan, Ellie (Sandy) Pollard, Nora Rogers, Michael Noonan, Sheila Noonan, Leo Smith, Dot Sherry as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by siblings and in-laws Annie & Ellsworth Noonan, Mabel & Robert Carmichael, Raymond, Leonard, Bernice, and Dorothy Sherry, Louis McCourt, Russell and Ruth (McKenna) Noonan, Marilyn Smith, Anne & James Duffy, John Noonan, Leonard Lafferty and James Rogers.
Lorraine dedicated her life to her family, her faith and her community, using her many talents to serve with love, patience and often a touch of humour. She left a lasting impact on countless lives, particularly through her loving acts of kindness during times of need and her 50+ years of leading local youth as a volunteer and co-founder of the Albany 4-H club. Lorraine was a long-time member of the C.W.L., volunteer at the Prince County Hospital and sponsor of several foster children in developing countries. In 2002, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee Medal and in 2014, Lorraine, a life-long learner and passionate believer in the value of education, received her Bachelor of Integrated Studies with first-class standing from UPEI at the age of 77.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd, Summerside. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, private wake and funeral services will be held. Interment to take place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Seven Mile Bay. Memorial donations in Lorraine's memory to the St. Peter's Parish Renovation Fund or Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
