Obituary of Pye, Nelson George Edward
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday, October 9th , 2009 of 'Nelson' George Edward Pye of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 64 years. Nelson was born on May 2nd, 1945 in Mount Pleasant, P.E.I. to his late parents Harris & Mable (nee Bridges) Pye. Beloved husband of Betty (nee Coughlin) Pye. Also lovingly remembered by several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.
He is survived by his brothers and sister: Hughie Pye of Inverness, P.E.I., Minor (Sandra) Campbell of O'leary, P.E.I., Tom (Charlene) Campbell of Summerside, P.E.I., Loman Campbell of Summerside, P.E.I., Ed (Doreen) Campbell of Richmond, P.E.I. and Eleanor (Ernest) Bulger of O'leary, P.E.I..
By personal request there will be no visitation or funeral service held. Memorial donations in Nelson's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundations may be made at the East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Road, Summerside, P.E.I.. On line condolences can be sent to epfuneral@pei.aibn.com
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
