Obituary of Doucette, Wilfred Joseph
The death occurred at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, July 18, 2021 of Wilfred Joseph Doucette of Summerside, PE and formerly of Miscouche, PE. Wilfred was born in Miscouche to his late parents Cyrus and Margret (nee Perry) Doucette.
He will be missed by his children Thelma (John) O'Donnell, Helen (Robert) Yeo, Donnie (Kim Burke) Doucette and Rita (Steve) Dunn. Remembered by his grandchildren Raymond, Christine, Robbie and Eric and his 5 great-grandchildren. Wilfred is survived by his sister Geralda (Francis) Doucette, brother-in-law David Simmonds, sisters-in-law Donna Doucette, Bertha Doucette, Shirley Doucette and Bonita Doucette, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Wilfred was predeceased by his wife Josephine (nee Doucette) Doucette, son Raymond Doucette, siblings Harry (Evelyn) Doyle, Josephine Simmonds, Leona Doucette, Rita Broderick, Hector âHubba' Doucette, Gus Doucette, William Doucette, Emile Doucette, John Doucette and Hector Doucette.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside then to St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche for a graveside service, by invitation only. Online condolences can be sent to epfuneral@eastlink.ca

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
