Obituary of Trenholm, Orlande James
The death occurred peacefully at his home Friday , January 1st , 2010 of Orlande James Trenholm of Summerside, P.E.I. , aged 85 years. Orlande was born on March 7th, 1924 in Bayfield, N.B., to his late parents Palmer and Pearl (nee Allen) Trenholm.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary (nee MacKenzie) Trenholm, his son, Kenneth and daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Donkin) Trenholm and four grandchildren; Alysha, Austin, Alayna & Aaron all of S'Side. Survived by his brothers & sisters ; Powell of S'Side, Daisy Bruce of Ch'Town, Phyllis Jeffery of Ont., Borden of Ont. Everett of Ch'Town, Mary Bruce of Ch'Town & Carol Patterson of N.S., and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Orlande was predeceased by his brothers; Kenneth & Lloyd and his sisters; Ada Reid, Eva Gallant, Jean Patterson, Caranome Boulier & Lucy Deveaux.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by personal request. Friends and family are welcome to come to the home of his son, Kenneth, at 2 Darby Drive, Summerside, to pass heart-warming and comical stories of Orlande on Saturday, January 9th, 2010 from 1-3 p.m.. These stories will become a keepsake for the family.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
