Obituary of Arsenault, Edmond
The death occurred peacefully at his late residence on Friday , January 8th , 2010 of Edmond Arsenault of Summerside, aged 86 years. Veteran of World War II. Edmond was born on November 8th, 1923 in St. Chrysostome, P.E.I. to his late parents Arcade and Madeleine Arsenault.
Beloved husband of Reta ( nee Gallant ) Arsenault and loving father of Barbara ( Jean-Louis ) Arsenault of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Christopher Pappas of Surrey, B.C., Marrianne ( Adam ) Pappas of Barrie, On. and Allysa ( Justin ) Pappas of Mississauga, On., great-grandchildren Hailey & Jaxton Moore, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends including Abby the cat. Survived by his brothers Eddie ( Reta ) and Armand ( Margaret ) of St. Chrysostome, his sisters Yvonne and Gerelda of Miscouche and Emma ( Camille ) of Lakeland, Florida and sisters-in-law Zeta Curll and Irene Arsenault of Summerside.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, January 11th , 2010 then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours on Sunday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Edmond's memory to the new East Prince Funeral Home Chapel Fund or St. Paul's Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
