Obituary of Paynter, Mary " Leola "
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family at the Prince County Hospital , Summerside , P.E.I. on Monday , January 25th , 2010 of Mary 'Leola' Paynter ( nee Gallant ) of Summerside , P.E.I. , aged 87 years. Leola was born on October 13th , 1922 in Saint John , N.B . to her late parents John & Marie Gallant .
Beloved wife of the late George Paynter and loving mother of Austin of S'side , Norma ( Gordon ) Campbell of Ottawa , On ., George ( Beverly ) of S'side , John ( Katherine ) of Fergus , On . & Andy ( Maxine ) of S'side . Also lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren , 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews . Survived by brothers Edward ( Celina ) Gallant of Abrams Village & Gary ( Karen ) Gallant and sisters Ella Dietrich & Martina Hinschberger all of Ontario .
Besides her husband & parents, Leola was predeceased by son Clarence, infant son George Clair, and brothers Joey & Syl and infant grandson George Ryan.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, January 29th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Church Cemetery , Summerside at a later date. Visiting hours on Thursday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Leola's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
