Obituary of Marchbank, Louise Maud
The death occurred peacefully at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, P.E.I. on Sunday , February 7th , 2010 of Louise Maud Marchbank ( nee Johnson ), formerly of New Annan aged 92 years. Louise was born on August 4th , 1917 in Margate, P.E.I. to her late parents John A. & Sadie ( nee Paynter ) Johnson. Beloved wife of her first husband, the late Clarence Marchbank and her second husband, the late John Marchbank.
Loving mother of Adele ( David ) Gillis of Stratford, James ( Connie ) of Linkletter Road and Garth ( Verena Matthew ) of New Annan. Also lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren , 1 great-great-grandchild, her daughter-in-law Nancy Marchbank of New Annan, her sister-in-law Mary MacLean of S'side and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Amy ( Arthur P. ) Johnstone of Stanley Bridge.
Besides her parents and her two husbands, Louise was predeceased by her son Robert and the following brothers & sisters-in-law : Evelyn ( Keith ) Warren, Andrew ( Enid ) Johnson, Margaret ( Earl ) Lowther, Ken MacLean, Ernestine Connell and Marjorie Cairns.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, February 10th , then to Kensington United Church , Kensington for funeral service at 1:30 p.m. . Interment to take place at a later date in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Louise's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the A.L.S. Society of P.E.I. would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
