Obituary of Poirier, Marie

The death occurred peacefully with her loving family by her side at the Summerset Manor , Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, February 24th , 2010 of Marie Poirier ( nee DesRoches ), formerly of Miscouche aged 91 years. Marie was born on July 25th, 1918 in Miscouche, P.E.I. to her late parents Ely & Emily ( nee Poirier ) DesRoches. Beloved wife of William ( Willie ) Poirier. Loving mother of Roger ( Peg ) DesRoches of Ch'town, Ruth ( John ) Gillis of Miscouche, Leigh ( Donna ) DesRoches of St. John's Nfld., Lois ( Brian ) Praught of S'side, Dianne ( Peter ) Whitlock of Ch'town & Deborah ( George ) Morgan of Moose Jaw Sask..Loving Nana to Rhonda, Stacey, David, Chris, Chad, Lindsay, Ryan, Mitchell, Colin, Thomas & Hannah. Great Nana to Bennett, Reese, Colby, Aiden & Quinn. Survived by sister-in-law Lucy DesRoches of Miscouche. Beside her first husband, Martin DesRoches, Marie was predeceased by brothers Ben, Tilman, Adrien and Anthony. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, February 26th, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a late date. Visiting hours on Thursday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marie's memory to St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or the Summerset Manor Alzheimer's Unit would be greatly appreciated.
