Obituary of Gillis, Harry George
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Monday, May 10th, 2010 of Harry George Gillis of Summerside and formerly of Ellerslie, P.E.I., aged 83 years. Harry was born on January 24th , 1927 in Ellerslie, P.E.I. to his late parents Harold & Elsie ( nee Thompson ) Gillis.
Beloved husband of Ruth ( nee Williams ) Gillis and loving father of Sandra ( Chris ) Taweel, Michael ( Sandy ), Shelley ( Paul ) Kelly all of Halifax, N.S. and Kimberley ( Raymond ) Culleton of Northam, P.E.I. . Also lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Harry was predeceased by his sisters Ruth ( Melvin ) Hutchinson and Jeanetta Ogden.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, May 12th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place at Tyne Valley United Church Cemetery. Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Harry's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
