Obituary of DesRoches, Emmett Joseph

The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Thursday, May 27th, 2010 of Emmett J. DesRoches of Summerside and formerly of Egmont Bay, P.E.I. , aged 72 years. Emmett was born on July 9th, 1937 in Summerside, P.E.I. to his late parents Emmett & Bibienne ( nee Arsenault ) DesRoches. Survived by his sisters Stella Young of Miramichi, N.B., Helen ( Francis ) Forbrigger of Dartmouth, N.S. and Elsie Sicott of Montreal, Quebec , his step-mother Grace DesRoches of Sydney, N.S.. Also by his aunts Madeleine Bartoszynski, Christina DesRoches, Rose DesRoches all of Summerside, Eva Mahar of Charlottetown along with numerous nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Emmett was predeceased by his grandparents, Fidele & Maryann DesRoches who raised him since the age of two , his sister Norma Wall, brothers-in-law Ambrose Young and Bernard Sicott and also many aunts and uncles. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, May 29th , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Friday,2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Emmett's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
