Obituary of Doucette, Ralph Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday, August 24th , 2010 of Ralph Joseph Doucette of Summerside, and formerly of Toronto, On., aged 79 years. Ralph was born on September 2nd , 1930 in Tignish, P.E.I. to his late parents, Frank & Elizabeth ( nee Allen ) Doucette.
Beloved husband of the late Gladys Doucette. Survived by his brother Ivan ( Rita ) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents , Ralph was predeceased by his brothers & sisters : Albert , Alfred ( Leona ) , Melvin ( Lucy ) , Edmund , Leo ( Rosie ) , Rose ( Joe ) Martin and Ida ( Ed ) Jones.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, August 26th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours on Wednesday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Ralph's memory to St. Paul's Cemetery Fund or the P.E.I. Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
