Obituary of Rooney, James Gerald " Jerry "

The death occurred peacefully at his late residence on Monday, December 13th , 2010 of James Gerald 'Jerry' Rooney of Summerside, P.E.I. , aged 78 years. Gerald was born on August 10th , 1932 in Emerald , P.E.I. to his late parents, Frank & Olive ( nee Martin ) Rooney. Beloved husband of Florence ( nee Hughes ) Rooney and loving father of Olive ( Gordon ) Ashley of Knutsford, Christine Hodder of B.C., Geraldine 'Gerri' ( Francis ) Roberts of Middleton, James 'Jim' of Edmonton, AB. and Richard ( Dianne ) also of Edmonton, AB. . Also lovingly remembered by his step-children Judy Poppowich, Nancy ( Jim ) Barbaro, Janet Reeves, Rick Reeves, Joyce Reeves, Thane ( Robynn ) Reeves and Lana Reeves , his uncle Clifford ( Rita ) Martin, his grandson Tim Reeves along with several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step-children Gary, Patsy & Wendy Reeves. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, December 16th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m..
