Obituary of Gallant, Alfred Joseph
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, December 26th , 2010 of Alfred Joseph Gallant of Summerside and formerly of Chelton, P.E.I. , aged 83 years. Alfred was born on May 7th , 1927 in Abrams Village, P.E.I. to his late parents, Aubin and Sylvina ( nee Bernard ) Gallant.
Beloved husband of Louise ( nee Barriault ) Gallant and loving father of Ron ( Lynn ) of Enfield, N.S., Dianne Gallant , Mike ( Sylvia ), Marcel ( Rosalyn ) , Marcia ( Blair ) Martin and Donnie ( Paulette ) all of P.E.I. . Also lovingly remembered by his 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his brothers Norman, Leo, Matt, Eric and Paul and his sisters Jeanne, Leona and Lisa. Besides his parents, Alfred was predeceased by his infant son Brian, his brother Edgar, sister Aline , step-brother Ted and step-sister Nellie.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, December 29th, then to St. Peter's Church, Seven Mile Bay for funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only, 6 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Alfred's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Prince County Hospital Foundation or to St. Peter's Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
