Obituary of Hockin, Lois Eleanor
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, March 15th , 2011 of Lois Eleanor Hockin ( nee Bunston ) of Summerside,in her 100th year. Lois was born on August 15th , 1911 in New York State, U.S.A. to her late parents , John and Jenny Bunston.
Beloved wife of the late Reginald Hockin and loving mother of Dean ( Sharon ) Couse of Fall River, N.S., Helen Andrews of Kensington , June ( John ) Caseley of Millvale and Robert ( Patrice ) Hockin of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her 7 grandchildren ; Lynn, Shelley, Eustie, Michael, Rob, Timothy and Mallory, her 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Besides her husband and parents, Lois was predeceased by her brother Ivan Bunston , her sister Bernice Bunston and her son-in-law Hillard Andrews.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, March 19th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Visiting hours on Friday evening only, 6 - 9 p.m. . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lois' memory to the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
