Obituary of Groslouis, Louise Anne
The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Wednesday, May 25th , 2011 of Louise Anne Groslouis ( nee MacKinnon ) of Charlottetown and formerly of Summerside, aged 89 years. Louise was born on October 20th , 1921 in Miscouche, P.E.I. to her late parents Augustus and Clara ( nee Poirier ) MacKinnon.
Beloved wife of the late Paul Groslouis and loving mother of Paul( Francine ) of Charlottetown, Rob of Ottawa, ON. and Ron ( Patricia ) of Quebec City, QC.. Also lovingly remembered by her 2 grandchildren Jennifer and Stephanie , 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Beatrice Poirier of Miscouche.
Besides her husband and parents, Louise was predeceased by her son Gary , sisters Margaret MacKinnon and Trudy Cevolani and brothers Herbert and Cedric.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, May 28th , then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Louise's memory to the C.N.I.B. would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday afternoon only , 2 - 4 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
