Obituary of Connolly, Mary " Wanda "
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her late residence on Wednesday, July 13th , 2011 of Mary 'Wanda' Connolly ( nee Luce ) of Summerside, P.E.I. aged 71 years. Wanda was born on October 28th , 1939 in Summerside , P.E.I. to her late parents James and Bernadette ( nee Gallant ) Luce.
Beloved wife of the late Channing W. Connolly and loving mother of Jerry ( Nancy ) of Summerside, Linda ( Terry ) Chetwynd of North Bay, ON. and Kelly ( Ray ) Gallant of Bedeque. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kelly-Lynn ( Danny ) and Sean , along with several nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Judy Gallant of Summerside and brother Paul ( Diane ) Luce of Bedeque.
Besides her husband, Wanda was predeceased by her son George, grandson Dave Clark, brothers Dennis and Albin and sisters Lorraine, Nancy, Betty and Dianne.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, July 15th then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Wanda's memory to East Prince Palliative Home Care would be greatly appreciated. No visiting hours by personal request.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
