Obituary of Doucette, Marie Elizabeth
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021 of Marie Elizabeth Doucette (nee Gaudet) of South Shore Villa, Crapaud, P.E.I. and formerly of Summerside, aged 85 years. Marie was born in St. Nicholas, P.E.I. to the late John and Lorraine (Poirier) Gaudet.
Beloved wife of Francis Doucette and loving mother of Sharon Doucette, Gerry (Jane) Doucette, Susan (Tony) Perry, Rose Doucette, Lisa (Steven) VanderVen and Irma Doucette (Donnie Harris). Also lovingly remembered by 7 grandchildren Nicole, Sandy, Natalie, Tracy, Emily, Jenna, Zoe, 8 great grandchildren Dylan, Emma, Madison, Kali, Draven, Harper, Charlie and Elise.
Survived by her sisters Marion Boudreau, Melvina Boudreau and Dorothy Fry, sister in-law Julie Gaudet and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son John, brother Cyril and sister Jean (Ernest) Doucette.
Resting a East Prince Funeral Home 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. A private funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel, by invitation only. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Marie's memory can be made directly to Paraplegic of PEI

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
