Obituary of Dougay, Mary Anna
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital , Summerside , P.E.I. on Sunday, December 18th , 2011 of Mary Anna Dougay ( nee McMurrer ) of Summerside and formerly of Albany, P.E.I., aged 75 years. Mary was born on August 26th , 1936 in Searletown, P.E.I. to her late parents Syl & Jennie McMurrer.
Beloved wife of the late Melvin Dougay and loving mother of Marilyn McAvinn of Albany, Judy( Joe ) Richards of Summerside, Carl ( Pam ) McMurrer of Summerside, Elizabeth ( Blair ) Conway of Bedeque and Charlene Costain of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Tennie ( Joe ) Dougay and sister-in-law Velda McMurrer , all of Albany.
Besides her parents and her husband, Mary was predeceased by her son Stephen , brother Lorne McMurrer and son-in-law Frank McAvinn.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request, there will be a private funeral service and visiting hours for family only. Interment to take place in St. Peter's Cemetery, Seven Mile Bay. Memorial donations in Mary's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
