Obituary of MacWilliams, George Leeman
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, January 13th , 2012 of George Leeman MacWilliams of Cape Traverse, aged 68 years. George was born on February 12th, 1943 in Augustine Cove, P.E.I. to his late parents, Percy and Eileen ( nee McInnis ) MacWilliams.
Beloved husband of Linda ( nee Rogers ) MacWilliams and loving father of Karen MacWilliams ( Dave ) of Crapaud, Wendy Foy ( Dayle ) of Charlottetown, Patty ( Stephen ) Cameron of Borden, Wayne ( Leeanne) of Vegreville, AB., Gordon ( Jodi ) and Rhonda ( Louis ) Darrach all of Borden. Also lovingly remembered by his 18 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters Erma Dawson of Albany, Shirley MacWilliams and Margaret Robinson , both of Summerside.
Besides his parents , George was predeceased by his brother Elmer in infancy , his sister Jean ( Lea ) Stewart and brothers-in-law Bennett Dawson and Mike Robinson.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside from where a private family memorial service will be held. Interment to take place at a later date in the Cape Traverse Church of Scotland Cemetery. By personal request there will be no visiting hours held. Memorial donations in George's memory to Notre Dame Place, Summerside would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
