Obituary of Bernard, Shirley E.

The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital , Summerside , P.E.I. on Saturday , April 7th , 2012 of Shirley E. Bernard ( nee Gunning ) of Summerside , aged 68 years. Shirley was born on September 27th, 1943 in Summerside , P.E.I. to her late parents Stanley and Ethel (nee Smith ) Gunning. Loving mother of Michael ( Melissa ) of Charlottetown . Also lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brothers John ( Beverly ) Gunning , Donald ( Debbie ) Gunning , James Gunning and her brother-in-law Allan Phillips all of Summerside . Besides her parents , Shirley was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Phillips. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday , April 11th, 2012 then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date . Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Shirley's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated .
