Obituary of MacDonald, Allan Belford
The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday , April 8th, 2012 of Allan Belford MacDonald of Summerside , P.E.I. in his 69th year. Allan was born on May 21st, 1942 in Summerside, P.E.I. to his late parents, Lester and Irene ( nee Clow ) MacDonald.
Beloved husband of Mary T. ( nee Bourque ) MacDonald and loving father of Christine White, Alanna Gates, Brenda Jackson, Raymond Bourque, Norbert Bourque and Lana Estey all of Ontario. Also lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren , 5 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his brother and sisters : Debbi Piras of Summerside, Lorna McDonald of ON. and Peter MacDonald of Summerside.
Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by his grand daughters Jessica and Jasmine Bourque.
By family request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Allan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
